Kamiyama town has some absolutely stunning waterfalls which we went to visit on our trip.
On the road to the trail head we paused the car to meet some goat families which were out being walked by their keeper. They were lovely but (not knowing anything about goats) I felt sorry for the breastfeeding mums their udders looked so swollen :/
Kids adorable.
And so to the waterfall. I think it took us about 30minutes to walk from the car park to the top waterfall. There are a few smaller falls on the way up too.
The track was well maintained and peaceful. We didn’t pass many other visitors either.
Water is beautifully clear.
The waterfalls are bonkers massive, majestic and impossible to photograph. You have to go to experience it.
Our guide was about 69years old but really sprightly. He is a local man and wanted us all to go up to the half way point of the fall. I bet it looked and felt great but I (and the others in our group) were all scaredy cats.
The route up is a slippery looking mossy rocky sheer slope. With an ancient looking metal pole-chain to grip on to. The 69 year old guy just went right up. I tried but chickened out! Coming down would be even scarier.
However I did bold sticking my legs in the water; absolutely freezing cold, but makes you feel alive!
