AWAJI / SHIKOKU

Exploring Susaki Town and Nabeyaki Ramen in Kochi, Japan

We passed through Susaki town on the coast of Kochi, in Shikoku. Its a very nice little town.
鍋焼きラーメン

They have ‘nabeyaki ramen’ It is cooked and served in a hot ceramic pot very delicious. I think the soup is chicken-based and tasted great especially with a bowl of plain rice on the side.

まちかどギャラリー

There is  a fancy arts centre in Susaki but it was unfortunately between exhibitions when we were there.

まちかどギャラリー

We could cool off in the garden for a bit though.

古い建物

There are lots of nice old buildings around.

染物屋

染物屋

This place seems to make hand painted/dyed flags.

海

Sea at the end of the road is always nice. The wall is a tsunami sea defence. (risk is high on the kochi coastline)

海The beach is ok for a walk but there is some forboding looking industry down the other end which makes it  a bit less inviting.
