This town is called Usuhara. It is quite a wealthy town and they have some buildings designed by a fancy architect, such as this, the town hall.

This is the ‘above the clouds’ hotel, onsen and restaurant. (near Usuhara)
It only cost 500 yen for the onsen, which was really nice and empty. They also have a large warm swimming pool with a slide that we didn’t try (you need a swimming costume because it’s mixeed)
There is this cool bridge/tunnel from the onsen to the hotel .
